Basil: Cooking wouldn't be the same without basil, especially fresh basil -- dried will do in a pinch but it's just
not the same. Basil is easy to start by seed or by cutting (let root in glass of water). Harvest young leaves and pinch of the seed blossoms leaving the two leaves intact.
- Sources of supply - I've had good luck finding a variety of Basil seeds at the local hardware or garden store (Lowe's or, even Walmart (I hate to admit)). I'm sure
Martha Stewart has some at the local Super K-mart, too!
